| “Tea
is more than sitting in a quiet room with friends or family…
but is a memorable moment to remember forever.”
~ Devon

To introduce myself as Peg Wolfe, Proprietor
of The Butterfly Tea Room, is a culmination of dreams and
memories.
My earliest memories of Mom include her savoring
her cup of tea.
I embrace those childhood memories of my mother and continue
to envision them as an adult as I see the enjoyment of
The Butterfly Tea Room customers as they savor their cups
of tea.
At The Butterfly Tea Room an abundance of
pastries and always a second cup of tea comes directly from
Mom. She would always enjoy her second cup of tea and couldn’t
understand when restaurants didn’t offer the same.
Choosing the teapot for your tea reflects
the whimsical side of me. From the customers' reactions,
I’m not the only one who enjoys this unexpected privilege.
The Name “The Butterfly Tea Room”
fits perfectly our beautiful Cape May County, for both historic
and personal reasons. First, Cape May is the home to the
infamous Annual 2,000 Mile Monarch Migration, in which the
butterflies find rest and nourishment en route to the mountains
of Mexico.
Second, and on a more personal note, the name
"The Butterfly Tea Room" came to me in a dream.
Having lost my Mother several years past and more recently
my Dad, while settling their estate, I came upon a New York
City Broadway Playbill of Madam Butterfly, along with the
butterfly necklace, given as a pre-engagement gift to my
Mother with a promise to marry upon Dad’s return from
WWII.
My Dad, in keeping his promise, now allows
me to carry on the meaning of the Butterfly-“New Life”
or “New Beginning”.
Thank you for allowing the loving history
that brought The Butterfly Tea room to life, to create a
new Beginning” of memories for you and yours. |
